Since my last normal post, things have become a little more hectic. The various twists and turns that life inevitably takes us on have looked more like “S” curves around here. There are a lot of new and wonderful things in the works for me, personally. Many irons are in the fire, and I got to say, it feels… good. Funny how, even if nothing were to pan out, just the fact that there are positive things going makes me have a much better outlook on things.
I am re-strategizing how best to use this space – my design business has taken off, business consulting is also entering into the mix, in addition to personal blogging, and pictures we want to share. So, instead of creating a bunch of different sites, I decided to make this the main site. I hope you don’t mind!
But, to update everyone on a few things… the girls are doing wonderful. The rhythm of a new school has officially kicked in, and they are both doing great academically, and socially. We couldn’t be more proud of how hard they are working and the things they have accomplished this year.
We returned to the Orthopaedic specialist a week ago to recheck Kaitlyn’s scoliosis. We are so thankful to be able to report that not only has she grown a whopping inch in the past four months, but the degree of curve in her spine is lessening. No bracing is needed at this point, and we are rejoicing that full restoration of her back is on its way.
And, even though she does not need a brace for her back, it looks like she will be needing braces on her teeth in the very near future. We have maxed out our orthodontic benefit, so we will have to cover the expense on our own. Thankfully, this isn’t going to happen until the summer which will give us time to save our pennies, and she will have time during the summer to adjust to them before she has to face her peers.
Oh, and the darling now has pierced ears. She is very excited about it, and we have had to put up with hearing every reference to “my new earrings” you could think of on a daily basis.
Amanda is doing fabulous. She has been extremely healthy and is growing like a weed as well. At a recent dentist appointment, there was some concern over the crowding in her mouth, so we will be visiting the fabulous Dr. Sarya at the end of the month to get a treatment plan going for her. Next week we will be celebrating the big “8″ for her with a bowling party – she is ecstatic, and really – who can blame her? This will be the first “official” birthday party for her. We are praying for a great turnout.
Phil recently finished his yearly two week layoff. During that time, he blessed me with a week of visiting my parents, no kids. The time flew while I was there, and I feel very fortunate that I am still very close with my parents, and I have a great husband that loves me enough to let me do that sort of thing. He did great with the kids, and the house while I was gone.
Well, that is about it – our snow is almost gone, and I am getting Spring Fever, hard core. I’m sure we are in for a couple more snow storms, but I’m not letting that get in the way of planning my garden!

Dear Dana, I would so like to read your website so will try to put it on my favorites. I am pleased with your political views and some of the things you have written and I have read, especially Obamas visit to Bozeman. I have hoped there are enough of you, and my 5 children, to save our country for my grandchildren and their children.
I have just read about your parents house for sale. Where will they move to? We have a Sun City here now that seems to do well.
Not for me, I love the house here in Mesquite. I am having the rest of my wall around my house done next week. Right now, I have 2 sides done with concrete blocks., so will finish up A good friend will be doing it for me.
Well, my kitty, Tiggy isbugging me, so will close. Keep up the good work. You are so special!
Hi June!
Thank you for being such an encouragement to me
They have a hotel down in Missouri, and a home in Kansas – once they reduce everything, I think they want to head to Texas, possibly, and when they do, we have plans to go as well. I think Arizona is too hot for them
