Just wanted to post real quick - I'm not feeling well, and have a million things to do. That just figures. We have seen (some) favor in the insurance debacle, but still pursuing some of the details. I've done really well with my health. For lunch I had a pickle wrap thing - take a piece of romaine lettuce, slather on some cream cheese, add meat of choice, and a pickle spear. Wrap and enjoy :-) It was a nice change from salad. Tonight I did pizza - the kids got normal pizza, and I did a low carb version that is actually 1.5 net carbs a serving. Suh-WEET! Umm - apparently my timing with this isn't the best - I had wanted to fix a bunch of goodies for Sunday, but that isn't going to work out. And, here I had hope to have delicious food while we had a rousing game of Scrabble. WHAT?! Not like there is a foosball game or anything good on TV. Seriously, though - I'm excited about the commercials (BUELLER BABY!) and Madonna - hopefully she does better than the … [Read more...]
You’re no better.
No sugar, day... 3, officially. The headache hit. Yay, me. For breakfast I had a smoothie with banana, apple, flax seed, peanut butter, and homemade yogurt. I have no idea how many carbs were in it, but I got a buzz, then the crash. So, yeah. To clarify, I'm not going Atkins, I just don't have that discipline, I'm just eating healthier, and to boost the weight loss, cutting sugar completely, and lowering carbs. I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 209. Now, I know that 99.9% of that drop has to be from water. Since you could easily start a town water supply with the amount I've been drinking. Moving on with the purpose of this post. Arrogant, ego ridden, mean people suck. Anyone that thinks they are better than someone else needs to be sent away on some boot camp. I've never stood for that kind of garbage, and I hate it even more now. Any kind of "ism" is unacceptable. And that is the typical thing you might think of, but I'm going a little deeper … [Read more...]
They call it COBRA for a reason
Today... I did a mile on the treadmill. Power walking. I also drank TWO 64oz of water, and a diet Pepsi. For breakfast I made a wicked scrambled egg concoction that included kidney beans, spinach, and tomatoes. I think some cheese, too. Lunch was a huge salad, and dinner was Spaghetti Squash with meat sauce. My only sweet thing was one slice of peach. I didn't even put sugar in my coffee. BOOM. So, funny story. Not really, but I'm foreshadowing that it will be. Maybe. Phil gets laid off every year for two weeks. It has been that way since he took this position. And, never, ever ever in that time have we lost benefits. It just has been too short of time. Guess what we found out. Yep, he didn't have insurance during his layoff. No notice, no nothing. Nice, right? It gets better. Kaitlyn just had her tonsils out, remember? Yup - also during his layoff. Oh, and guess what else? I ordered my new glasses four days before he went back to … [Read more...]
