Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother Back in September, Phil came across a wild apple tree that yielded us about... I'm going to call it a bushel and a half of apples. You can read about it here. In prior years, I have used apple scraps to make jelly... you can read about that here - it's delicious! Anyway, I wanted to find an additional use for the scraps because I had more than enough from this haul for jelly. I use quite a bit of apple cider vinegar around my house, so it was kind of a no … [Read more...] about Apple Cider Vinegar
Note: This was originally posted in 2012 - just want to bring it up. This year we planted a total of 50 some odd plants of three varieties of tomatoes. No, we are not crazy. Some days I might not feel like a particular dish, others it just doesn't fit in the time … [Read more...] about Eating from the Freezer: Week 3

As you know, we are trying to eat from the freezer in order to reduce our grocery bill, so I didn't want to have to buy anything if at all possible. A search on google for good crockpot potluck recipes didn't yield what I had hoped for - I guess because I know what we have on hand, and nothing fit that … [Read more...] about Crockpot Potluck Creamy Sausage Dip
