Today my husband has his work Christmas get together that I have known about for probably two weeks. And, as I do, today was when I finally started trying to figure out what to send with him. As you know, we are trying to eat from the freezer in order to reduce our grocery bill, so I didn’t want to have to buy anything if at all possible. A search on google for good crockpot potluck recipes didn’t yield what I had hoped for – I guess because I know what we have on hand, and nothing fit that bill. So, I had to get creative!
Please note that because I did this recipe on the fly, the picture doesn’t show the accurate amounts of ingredients that I ended up using, although you could easily halve this recipe if needed.
So, here we go!
You will need:
- 2 lbs. sausage – I used pork & italian, but you can use whatever.
- 3 bricks cream cheese – again, whatever you have on hand.
- 16 oz Salsa
- Hot Pepper Flakes, optional
Brown your sausage, then drain well. In a crockpot set to low, put in the cream cheese, salsa, and optional hot pepper flakes.
When sausage has drained, add that as well, then combine well. Serve with tortilla chips.
How easy is that? And, it is so delicious! I’ve had cream cheese and salsa together, but adding the sausage really ramps it up!
